Terms of Service
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These terms apply when you use lumifietechhelp.com or hire Lumifie Tech Help (“we,” “us”), a service of Lumifie Consulting. By booking or approving work, you agree to them.
1. Our services
We provide computer and technology support for homes and small businesses, remotely or on site. We describe each job and its price before starting.
2. Quotes and approval
- Every paid job has a flat price shown on the site or quoted to you. You approve it before work starts.
- Each service has a time limit. If a job needs more time, we stop, explain what we've found, and you decide whether to continue.
- Extra time is $49 per 30 minutes, and only with your approval.
3. Travel
On-site visits within about 20 miles of Cincinnati have no travel fee. Beyond that, a $35 travel fee applies. You'll know about it before booking.
4. If we can't fix it
- If we can't fix the problem or identify its cause, you don't pay for that service.
- If we identify the cause but can't finish the fix (for example, a part has failed), you pay for the diagnosis and receive a written summary of what's wrong and what to do next.
5. Hardware and parts
We don't sell parts or hardware. If a repair needs a replacement part, you buy it or claim it under warranty. Your diagnosis fee counts toward installing the replacement if you book within 14 days. We're not responsible for warranties on products made or sold by others.
6. Workmanship
If the same problem comes back within 14 days because of our work, we'll fix it at no charge. This doesn't cover new problems, hardware failures, or changes made by you or others after our work.
7. Payment
We accept Zelle and credit cards. Payment is due when the job is complete, unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. We never charge anything you haven't approved.
8. Free quick questions
- Allowance: one free question per business or household each month, answered in a single written reply that you follow yourself.
- What's paid: anything needing remote access, a call, or further back-and-forth is a paid service, and you get a price first.
- Use at your own risk: free answers are general guidance, so back up important files before making changes.
9. Office Care
- Optional and separate: Office Care is a month-to-month plan that you choose on its own page. It is never added to a one-time service.
- Billing: it renews monthly until you cancel.
- Cancelling: cancel any time before your renewal date and you won't be charged again. The plan stays active through the paid month. Email us "cancel Office Care" and we'll confirm within one business day.
- Included hours: unused hours don't roll over. Extra time is billed at the standard rate with your approval.
10. Your responsibilities
- You own the devices and accounts we work on, or you have permission from their owner, such as your employer, to let us work on them.
- You keep current backups of important data. We'll help set up backups if you ask, but we can't guarantee recovery of data that wasn't backed up.
- Software on your devices is properly licensed.
- You give us accurate information about the problem.
- For remote sessions, you start the connection and can end it at any time.
11. Work we won't do
We won't:
- access accounts or devices without the owner's permission;
- bypass security on devices you don't own;
- install pirated software;
- help with anything illegal.
We can decline or stop any job, and you won't be charged for work not done.
12. Scheduling and cancellations
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an on-site visit. There's no fee for cancelling a remote session.
13. Limitation of liability
- Cap: to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to a job is limited to the amount you paid for that job.
- Excluded losses: we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost data, including data that wasn't backed up.
- Exceptions: nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as for gross negligence or willful misconduct.
14. Confidentiality
We keep what we see on your devices private and handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by Ohio law. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Hamilton County, Ohio. Before going to court, we'll both try in good faith to resolve it directly.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. The version posted when you approve a job applies to that job.
